Accountinu ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Accountinu mobile application, web application at app.accountinu.com, and website at accountinu.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

If you sign in through Google One Tap on the web, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

To provide accounting features, we store data you enter into your workspaces, including:

  • Income, expense, and transfer records
  • Chart of accounts and account balances
  • Contacts (customers, vendors, employees)
  • Products and categories
  • Attachments and receipts you upload
  • Saved filters, reports, and dashboard preferences
  • Workspace settings, roles, and team membership

This data belongs to you and is used solely to operate the Service.

1.3 Device and Technical Information

When you use the mobile app or API, we may collect:

  • Device name (used to label active sessions)
  • App version and build number
  • Platform (Android, iOS, or web)
  • Network connectivity status
  • Screen size and general device type (for support diagnostics only)
  • IP address and request timestamps (standard server logs)

The Android app requests only Internet and Network State permissions. We do not access your phone contacts, location, camera, microphone, or storage outside the app.

If you contact support or submit feedback, we collect:

  • Your message and optional attachments
  • Account and workspace identifiers
  • Diagnostic context (app version, platform, locale, current screen, error codes) to help resolve issues

Diagnostic data is limited to technical context and does not include your financial transaction details unless you include them in your message.

1.5 Cookies and Local Storage

On the web, we use cookies and browser local storage for:

  • Authentication sessions
  • Security tokens
  • Theme and language preferences

The mobile app uses secure on-device storage for authentication tokens.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs in the mobile app.

  • Within your workspace: Data is visible to workspace members according to their assigned roles and permissions.
  • Service providers: We use infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery, backups) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Accountinu, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If Accountinu is involved in a merger or acquisition, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction with notice to affected users.

We do not share your financial records with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and workspace data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes.

Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for data in transit
  • Hashed passwords and secure authentication tokens
  • Role-based access controls within workspaces
  • Secure on-device token storage in the mobile app
  • Regular backups and monitoring

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate account information (via profile settings)

  • Export your workspace data
